Cycling is one of the best forms of cardiovascular conditioning and strength training, working the biggest muscle groups in the body at high intensity and repetition. The quadriceps, hamstrings, and hips never rest and as a result, riders often have overdeveloped quadriceps and tight hamstrings, which can pull the hips out of alignment. A cyclist's spine is also constantly flexed forward and if the proper form isn't maintained, it can result in muscle pain and strain in the back and shoulders.
